Ibn al-Qāsim said, ”Whenever we used to depart from Imām Mālik, he used to say,
`Fear Allah and spread this knowledge, teach and do not conceal it.´”

ʻUmar Ibn al-Khaṭṭāb said,
”Learn knowledge, and learn calmness and forbearance for the sake of knowledge. Humble yourselves to those whom you teach, and let those whom you teach humble themselves to you. Do not be tyrannical people of knowledge, lest your knowledge not spread because of your ignorance.”
Whoever studies jurisprudence (fiqh) and does not study Tasawwuf will be corrupted. Whoever studies Tasawwuf and does not study jurisprudence will become a heretic. Whoever combines both will reach the truth.

If you fear becoming deluded and impressed by your deeds then remember whose pleasure you are seeking, and the joy (paradise) in which you want to be, and what punishment you fear. Whoever thinks about these things will diminish his deeds.
It is blameworthy for someone afflicted with a sin to mention it to someone else. Instead, he should desist from the sin, feel remorse over having committed it, and resolve never to commit it again. If, however, he informs his spiritual mentor (shaykh) or someone else who he hopes will teach him how he can stop committing the sin, or how he can avoid falling into the like of it, or what it is that is causing him to fall into the sin, or who will pray for him, etc., then this is praiseworthy.

If I’m not mistaken, Bai is the Mandarin pronunciation whereas Bak is the Cantonese one.
